CTET 2022 New Eligibility Criteria: The July 2022 CTET Exam Notification will soon be published on its official website – ctet.nic.in. The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to assess the eligibility of Primary (Grades 1-5) and Upper Primary (Grades 6-8) teachers in central government schools such as NVS/ KVS and other schools, etc. Here are some important dates for the CTET 2022 exam:

CTET 2022 Revised Eligibility Criteria
CBSE is an examination-only body that conducts the CTET examination in accordance with the guidelines laid down by NCTE, Delhi. Such matters do not fall within the competence of the CBSE/CTET being solely an examination organization. Persons who meet the minimum qualifications for teaching staff in accordance with the following are eligible for inclusion in the CTET:
1. Regulations of the National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of minimum qualifications for persons to be recruited as teachers of education and teachers of physical education in pre-primary, primary, upper primary, secondary, secondary or intermediaries) as amended and notified by from time to time.
According to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) of 13e October 2021, the minimum qualification required:
“Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)”, “WHERE Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and an integrated three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. » |
“Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education)”, “WHERE Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and an integrated three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. » |
In said notification, the following clause was added:-
who has acquired the title of B.Ed.-M.Ed. integrated in three years. from any institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Training shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V: provided that the person so appointed as a teacher must follow a compulsory six-month bridging course in elementary education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. Teacher training, within two years of being appointed as a primary teacher. » |
2. Minimum qualifications set out in the teacher recruitment regulations by the relevant government where the school is located or in the teacher recruitment regulations of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
CTET 2022 Age limit
There is no age limit for the CTET exam. Candidates with minimum qualifications can attempt as many times as they wish to improve their CTET score.
- Applicants must be citizens of India
- There is no age limit to apply for the CTET exam
Educational qualification CTET 2022
There are two articles in each CTET:
- Test I: For classes I to V (primary)
- Test II: For classes VI to VIII (elementary)
If a candidate intends to teach grades I to VIII, he must appear in both tests.
Pedagogical qualification for classes IV (primary level)
Upper secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last year of the 2-year diploma in elementary education OR |
Upper Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulations, 2002 OR |
Upper secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR |
Upper secondary school (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year diploma in education (special education)* OR |
Diploma and passed or appearing in the final year of the two-year diploma in primary education |
Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade and an integrated three-year B.Ed.-M.Ed. » |
Pedagogical qualification for classes VI-VIII (elementary stage)
Diploma and passed or appearing in the last year of the 2-year diploma in primary education OR |
Degree with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) OR |
Degree with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE regulations OR |
Upper secondary school (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in elementary education (B.El.Ed) OR |
Upper secondary school (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last year of BA/ B.Sc.Ed or BAEd/ B.Sc.Ed OR |

A 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks will be granted to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates. |
Applicants pursuing one of the teacher education courses (recognized by NCTE or RCI) will be eligible to appear in CTET. |
Reservation criteria CTET
There is no reservation of places for candidates belonging to the reserved categories. Applicants in reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Differently Capled will receive a five percent relaxation on qualifying scores.
A person who scores 60% or higher on the CTET exam will be considered a CTET pass or CTET qualification. The minimum qualifying scores per category are as follows:

CTET 2022 Number of attempts
So far, there is no limit to the number of spawn attempts in CTET. there is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can make to acquire a CTET certificate. A CTET Skilled Person can also appear again to improve their score.
Eligibility will ultimately be verified by the relevant recruitment agency/appointing authority. The candidate must meet their eligibility before applying and will be personally responsible if they are not eligible to apply according to the given eligibility criteria.
