Assam HSSLC results reported; girls outperform boys in all areas


Guwahati, 27th June: The results of the 2022 Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination were declared today with 83.48% in Arts, 87.27% in Commerce, 92 .19% success rate in science and 89.30% results in professional courses. This year, the girls outperformed the male contestants in all four streams with remarkable differences in pass percentage.

Sadhana Devi from Kamrupa Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Kamrup and Cherry Gohain from Women’s College Tinsukia jointly topped the Arts stream with 487 points. First place in Commerce was won by Sagar Agarwal from Vivekananda Senior Secondary School, Cachar who scored 482 points. Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita of Deomornoi HS School Darrang topped the science stream merit list with 491 points.

This year, a total of 21 students are on the merit list of the top ten positions in the Arts stream, 12 best in the Science stream and 20 rank holders in the Science stream.

In the regular category of the Arts stream, the success rate for female students is 85.19% while 81.44 males passed their CSSS exams. In the trade, 89.79% of the girls performed much better than their male counterparts with a pass rate of 84.66 per pass rate.

The results of the Science section also suggest a similar trend with 93.20% results for girls and 90.65% success for boys.

Also in the vocational stream, female candidates recorded 93.81% success rate compared to male candidates with 87.65% results.

This year, a total of 2,15,022 students showed up for their HS end-of-year exam, which was conducted offline.
