CBSE set to hold class 10, 12 phase 2 exams amid Covid surge

Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Academic Director of the CBSE, told IANS: “The sample questions and scoring schemes for the second semester exams for grades 10 and 12 have been posted on the website and affiliated schools of the CBSE. CBSE Board were also alerted.”

Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of CBSE Exams, said: “If the situation gets worse, then only the second term of exams will not take place. The marks obtained in the first phase will be considered final and on the basis of these, the results will be prepared. But if such a situation does not arise and the second term is successfully completed, the final result will be decided on the basis of 50-50% points from these two terms.

The Union Department of Education and the Department of Health are paying particular attention to vaccinating students between the ages of 15 and 18 so that they can sit for board exams safely.

Pankaj Rathore, Headmaster of Seth Jaipuria School, said: “Exam preparation and the Covid situation have gotten the kids used to the hybrid mode of learning. The school’s new assessment method will help us to move beyond traditional notions of assessment Schools need to monitor the situation and ensure that students are well prepared for pre-counseling and counseling exams.

He added: “Offline lessons are planned for these children once the vaccination of 15-18 year olds is completed. Vaccination camps on school premises will help children feel at home. It is important to observe students for a few days after vaccination because their health is our top priority.”
