Bhubaneshwar: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra chaired a review meeting on Friday to discuss the smooth running of the Matric and Plus II exams across the state.
The matric exams conducted by the Council for Secondary Education will take place between April 29 and May 7. The +2 exams will take place from April 28 to May 31.
Besides the Chief Secretary, the Secretary of the Department of School and Mass Education, the President of ESB, the President of CHSE, the Commissioner of Police of Twin City and senior officials were present at the meeting .
Mahapatra emphasized adequate security at the centers where the questionnaires will be kept. Centers must be under 24/7 CCTV surveillance. Strict measures will be taken against rumor mongers and wrongdoers.
This year, 5,85,730 candidates will sit for the Matric exams out of which 5,71,909 students will sit for the High School Certificate exams, 4,443 candidates will sit for the Madhyama exams and 9,378 candidates will sit for the Odisha State Open School.
There will be 3540 examination centers and 315 nodal centers for matrix examinations.
Similarly, 3,21,508 candidates will appear for the +2 exams in Odisha. Among them, 2, 13,432 candidates will appear for the Arts stream, 78,077 candidates for the Sciences and 24,136 candidates will appear for the Faculty of Commerce and 5,863 candidates for the Vocational Education.
The CHSE will hold +2 exams at 1,133 centers with 202 Nodal centers across the state.
