Qualification for education

  1. Applicants must have a recognized MBBS degree included in Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 or Part II of Schedule 3 (other than bachelor’s degrees) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of degrees included in Part II of the Third Schedule must also meet the conditions specified in subsection (3) of Article 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
  2. Completion of the compulsory rotating internship. Candidates who have not completed a work-study internship may sit the written examination provided, if they are selected, that they have successfully completed the compulsory internship before their appointment.
