kea: Kea Official Files Complaint for Asst Prof Exam Paper Leak | Bangalore News

BENGALURu: The Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has lodged a complaint with the Malleswaram Police, suspecting that the Geography Quiz of the recently held exam for the post of Assistant Professor has been subject to of a leak.
Ramya S, Executive Director of KEA, claimed that at least 11 quiz questions were sent to many candidates on the morning of the exam on March 14.
“That examinations were in progress for the positions of assistant professors in the first degree government colleges. On March 14, the candidates presented themselves for the geography test. However, 11 questions that appeared in the questionnaire were allegedly disclosed by a candidate before the exam. The candidate sent these questions to many other candidates on WhatsApp,” an interviewer said.
The FIR was registered on Saturday under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (cheating and dishonest inducement to deliver goods) and under the Information Technology Act.
Ramya S told STOI that she recently received an anonymous letter signed by “aggrieved candidates” stating that 18 geography questions reached many candidates at 8:31 a.m. on the day of the exam.
“The letter contained the questions that would have been sent on WhatApp. When I checked, there were 11 questions, not 18. At 8:30 a.m., candidates would have entered the exam hall, leaving their cell phones behind. However, as a precautionary measure, I requested the intervention of the police to verify whether the questions had been disclosed well before the time of the examination,” she said.
