Odisha NEET 2021 Merit List, advice deferred until further notice

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) issued a notification regarding the postponement of NEET counseling. The counseling was supposed to start today, that is, November 29, 2021, but for unforeseen reasons it has been postponed by the authorities until further notice.

OJEE will publish the merit list for admissions in MBBS & BDS 2021 based on NEET (UG) scores. The counseling authorities will publish the merit list online on the official ojee.nic.in website, in pdf format. Through the OJEE MBBS & BDS 2021 ranking, applicants will be admitted to MBBS & BDS seats offered by state medical schools.

After the completion of the council cycle and the allocation of seats, the authority will publish the document verification schedule. All applicants seeking admission and having their name on the merit list will be required to attend in person and have their documents verified for admission to medical school.

Therefore, to avoid last minute precipitation, applicants should prepare the following required documents in advance: grade sheets and certificates of completion for classes 10 and 12, admission card and NEET UG score card, certificate of domicile and category certificate (if applicable), proof of identity, passport size photograph, application and receipt of fees.

Admissions to medical schools after obtaining NEET clearance is done on two bases: 15% quota for all of India and 85% state quota seats. The Medical Advisory Committee (MCC) is responsible for admissions to 15% of AIQ seats, while seats at 85% of the state quota are allocated based on NEET scores by state council authorities. However, applicants must be domiciled in the state to complete applications with state medical schools.

This year the NEET UG exam has encountered a lot of obstacles. The exam could not go smoothly due to the Supreme Court case, allegations of leaked questions and striking out of the fair coordination of the exam at the end of the examiner. After clearance from the Supreme Court, however, the results were announced and now the counseling cycle is underway.
