SBI CBO 2021 eligibility criteria

Candidates interested in applying Circle Based Officers (CBO) in various offices of the State Bank of India must go through the important eligibility criteria as decided by the Bank. If they meet the eligibility requirements, they must register online for the SBI CBO 2021 which will take place in three phases: online written exam, selection and interview.

Qualification for education

Diploma in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent diploma recognized as such by the central government.

REMARK: The date of passing the eligibility exam will be the date shown on the scoring sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University / Institute. In the event that the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the university / institute, a certificate issued by the competent authority of the university / institute indicating the date on which the result was published on the website will be considered the date of which passes.

Age limit

Like the 1st December 2021, a candidate must be no less than 21 years old and no more than 30 years old. This means that applicants must be born on or before December 1, 2000 and December 2, 1991 (both days included) at the earliest.

REMARK: Cumulative Age Relaxation will not be available under the above items or in combination with other items. Qualified applicants for the SBI CBO 2021 exam who are seeking age flexibility are required to submit copies of the necessary certificates at the time of interview / membership. No change in the category of an applicant is allowed after the registration of the online application. No correspondence, e-mail or telephone will be received in this regard.

Professional experience

Like the 1st By December 2021, applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience (essential academic post-qualification experience) as an officer in any scheduled commercial bank or any regional rural bank listed in the second annex of the Reserve Bank of India.

Applicants will need to provide a job profile that has been certified by their current or previous employer (s). Candidates’ applications will be rejected by the Bank at any stage of the SBI CBO selection process if the job profile of a candidate does not match or turns out to be different from the job profile of a general agent. Local language

Candidates applying for vacancies in a particular state must be proficient (reading, writing and comprehension) in the local language chosen by that state (listed for each state).

The test of knowledge of the specified local language of the applied state will be carried out as part of the selection process. It will be carried out for candidates selected on a provisional basis (on the basis of the results obtained during an online written test, selection and interview) before joining the Bank. A candidate who does not qualify for this test will not be offered the appointment.

Applicants who produce a 10th or 12th standard grading sheet / certificate proving that they have studied the specified chosen local language of the applied state as one of the subjects will not be required to take the language test.

Other relevant requirements

(i) Applicants with a history of default on loan / credit card dues and / or against whom an adverse report from CIBIL or other external agencies is available are not eligible for appointment. Position in this regard will be verified prior to accession.

(ii) Candidates against whom there is / are adverse reports regarding character and background, moral turpitude are not eligible to apply for the post.

REMARK:

  • The candidate will need to apply for a vacant position in only one state. A candidate applying for a vacant post in one state will not be able to apply for a vacant post in another state.
  • The candidate’s candidacy will only be considered on the basis of vacant posts in the state for which he applied / opted. The merit list will be established by state and by category.
  • Selected candidates will be displayed in the circle / state according to the vacant position from which they are selected.
  • The selected candidates will not be entitled to inter-circle transfer / assignment to the business center / assignment to the establishment of a business center / assignment abroad until their promotion to grade SMGS-IV OR 12 years of service, whichever is later.
  • Applicants working with Scheduled Commercial Bank / SBI affiliates in an office setting or supervising / resigning officer rank in SBI will not be eligible.
