SSC, inter exams can be postponed

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to postpone the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination (10th class) and Intermediate Examination.

The decision was made considering the current situation of the pandemic and the closure of educational institutions. Indeed, the school year had started late following the second wave of Covid and this had left less time for students to cope with the program.

Now, with the third wave and the number of Omicron cases rising in the state, the government has extended the holidays until the end of January. This further affected the studies, officials said.

Therefore, the education department has proposed that the tenth and intermediate exams be held in May. He also offered to reduce the curriculum and give more options in the tests to reduce student stress, sources said.

Every year, the SSC exams are held in the third week of March. Also keeping in mind the current working days, only 50-55% of the program has been covered, so the department may make the decision to reduce the program to 50% and the exam date is not not yet decided.

As before, it has been decided that the number of questions for the SSC exam has been reduced from 11 to 6.

Besides reducing the number of papers, the government has also increased the length of the exam. Instead of 2 hours 45 minutes, this year students will have 3 hours 15 minutes to complete their exam because the number of questions will be greater, as they will only have to write one article for each subject.
