PM Hasina could launch same-day book distribution program

The results of this year’s High School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent exams are expected to be released on December 30.

The inter-council coordination subcommittee said on Sunday that the results of the SSC and the textbook distribution program would take place on the same day.

The date for the exam results would be finalized after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned from the Maldives, a committee member said.

Dhaka Education Council Secretary Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar said, “We previously sent a proposal to the Ministry of Education to publish the results between December 26 and December 28.”

However, due to the Prime Minister’s visit to the Maldives, the date had to be postponed between December 28 and 31, while the new book distribution program is expected to start on December 30.

“Perhaps the results of the SSC and the book distribution program can be launched on the same day,” said Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar.

The Prime Minister is due to return to the country on Tuesday.

Previously, Education Minister Dipu Moni said the results would be released within 30 days of the exams being completed.

The SSC and equivalent exams took place in November.
