UPSC Prelims 2022: Check Schedules, Dress Code, Exam Day Guidelines and More

New Delhi, 04 June: The Union Civil Service Commission will conduct the Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination 2022 on 5th June 2022 (Sunday) across India. The Board has already issued guidelines that must be followed on the day of the exam. Here are highlights of the important details applicants should keep in mind.

  • Applicants are advised to download their eAdmit cards and print them. The electronic admission card must be kept until the declaration of the final results of the civil service examination, 2022. No paper admission card will be issued for this examination.
  • Candidates must produce the printout of their electronic admission card at the designated place to appear for the examination.
  • Candidates are also required to carry their photo ID card, the number of which is mentioned on the electronic admission card, in order to attend each of the examination sessions.
  • In the event that the photograph is unclear, blurry or not available on the electronic admission card, candidates must bring two (2) identical photographs (one photograph for each session) as well as an identity card with photo and printing of the electronic admission card instead of the exam to appear for the exam with a commitment.
  • If there is any discrepancy in the electronic admission card, it can be immediately communicated to the Commission via email (to email ID [email protected]) for decision on the matter.
  • Entrance to the exam venue must be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the exam, i.e. 9.20 a.m. for the morning session and 2.20 p.m. for the afternoon session.
  • No candidate will be permitted to enter the exam location after registration closes.
  • Candidates should also note that they will not be permitted to attend any other exam location except for the exam location listed in the electronic admission card.
  • Candidates are also advised to bring a black ballpoint pen as candidates will be required to complete the OMR answer sheets and attendance list with a black ballpoint pen only.
  • The use of normal or plain wristwatches by candidates is permitted inside the examination halls/rooms. However, the use of watches equipped with any special accessory that can be used as a communication device or smart watches is strictly prohibited and candidates are not allowed to bring such watches into the examination halls.
  • Mobile phone (even in off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage medium like USB drive, smart watches, etc. or a camera or Bluetooth devices or any other associated equipment or accessories in working or off mode capable of being used as a communication device and calculator are prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • Any violation of these instructions will result in disciplinary action against the candidates concerned, including exclusion from future examinations/screenings.
  • Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (negative mark) for incorrect answers marked by a candidate in the objective type questionnaire. They are advised to mark their answers carefully.
  • There is no dress code for the exam day mandated by UPSC Prelims 2022. However, valuable/expensive items and bags are also not permitted inside the exam location.
